  • How does CyberPolicy work?

Here at CyberPolicy we believe that there are three critical components to effective cyber protection - Plan, Prevent, and Insure.

    1. Plan: We take you through a simple set of questions to identify your company’s vulnerabilities and then guide you in selecting the proper security and insurance precautions your business needs.
    2. Prevent: Through partnering with leading cybersecurity companies, we match you with the security tools you need to monitor and prevent cyber attacks.
    3. Insure: Insure: We work with trusted insurers to provide you with the coverage you need to adequately insure against known cyber risks. Once the cybersecurity tools are installed, your cyber insurance policy is activated to protect your business.

  • Do you provide any insurance beyond Cyber Insurance?

Cyber Insurance

  • What is Cyber Insurance?

There two primary components of comprehensive cyber coverage:

First-Party Cyber Coverage covers immediate response costs associated with a data breach for losses to the policyholder. It will cover things like extortion/ransom, loss of income due to business interruption, and theft.

Third-Party Cyber Coverage covers the policyholder from claims brought by third parties such as customers and clients claiming losses because of policyholder's actions in the event of a cyber attack. It will cover things like legal fees, settlements, media liability, privacy liability, and credit monitoring.

  • Do I really need cyber insurance if I already have business insurance (e.g. general liability, professional liability, etc)?

A typical general or professional liability policy does not protect your business against cyber attacks. That being said, some policies will offer optional endorsements (think of these as amendments or add-ons to your policy) that specifically provide cyber insurance coverage. Unfortunately, not many businesses have these and in the absence of an endorsement, the base insurance policy doesn’t typically provide adequate protection against losses from a cyber attack, if at all.

  • How do you determine proper cyber insurance coverage for my business?
Coverage recommendations are based on a number of factors, including:
    • Industry and business type
    • Amount of sensitive information you have access to
    • Number of devices with access to company data
    • Number of employees
    • Business operational practices (ex. Are you actively using trusted cybersecurity tools?)

From there, we work with leading insurance providers to customize the best coverage for your business. To discuss your coverage needs with one of our licensed insurance advisors, call (800) 590-7292, Mon - Fri 6:00AM - 6:00PM PT and Sat 7:30AM - 3:30PM PT.

  • How do I place a cyber insurance claim?

Chubb: Call (800) 433-0385 to be connected directly to Chubb’s 24/7 claim support.

BCS Insurance Company: First, call Baker Hostetler at the 24 Hour Security Breach Hotline at (866) 288-1705. Then, file your claim via email at joan.dambrosio@clydeco.us or by mail at Clyde & Co. US LLP, 101 Second Street, 24th Floor, San Francisco CA 94105.

  • When will my cyber insurance become effective after purchase?

24 hours after you activate your first device with Norton. Also, please note that your cyber insurance policy is dependent on the active subscription of the Norton cybersecurity tool you purchased.

  • I already have a cybersecurity tool protecting my business, can I just purchase a stand-alone Cyber insurance policy from CyberPolicy?

Please call (800) 590-7292, Mon - Fri 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM PT and Sat 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM PT to speak with one of our licensed insurance advisors.

Privacy & Security

  • Do you sell my information to other companies?

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in our Privacy Policy. We may provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities such as email service and chat/live feature. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

  • What information do you share with the cybersecurity and insurance companies that my products are from? Will they contact me directly?

The only transfer of information that will occur between CyberPolicy and Norton is when Norton notifies CyperPolicy that your subscription has been activated.

In contrast, once a cyber insurance policy is purchased (and not a moment before), we share all business and personal (non-payment) information with the insurance carrier. This information is required to uphold a contract between you and your insurance provider.

The cybersecurity and insurance companies we work with will never contact you for marketing or promotion purposes. They will only contact you directly in order to provide customer or claim support on your policy. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.

  • What security measures do you take to keep my information safe?

The security of your personal information is of maximum importance to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our billing forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our Web site, you can contact us at privacy@cyberpolicy.com.
