There two primary components of comprehensive cyber coverage:
First-Party Cyber Coverage covers immediate response costs associated with a data breach for losses to the policyholder. It will cover things like extortion/ransom, loss of income due to business interruption, and theft.
Third-Party Cyber Coverage covers the policyholder from claims brought by third parties such as customers and clients claiming losses because of policyholder's actions in the event of a cyber attack. It will cover things like legal fees, settlements, media liability, privacy liability, and credit monitoring.
A typical general or professional liability policy does not protect your business against cyber attacks. That being said, some policies will offer optional endorsements (think of these as amendments or add-ons to your policy) that specifically provide cyber insurance coverage. Unfortunately, not many businesses have these and in the absence of an endorsement, the base insurance policy doesn’t typically provide adequate protection against losses from a cyber attack, if at all.

The only transfer of information that will occur between CyberPolicy and Norton is when Norton notifies CyperPolicy that your subscription has been activated.
In contrast, once a cyber insurance policy is purchased (and not a moment before), we share all business and personal (non-payment) information with the insurance carrier. This information is required to uphold a contract between you and your insurance provider.
The security of your personal information is of maximum importance to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our billing forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
